FAQ
A Business Coach can assist you, working alongside you, to strategize the best approach to take consistent action towards the creation of a business that matches your vision. Then, by taking your new business through the start-up phase, we create a solid foundation. This gives you a strategic, step-by-step plan to build on.
If you have an established business: Together, we’ll build on your operational experience to refine and strengthen your foundation. We’ll identify opportunities to improve systems, gain greater control over marketing, expand your client base, and create more ease and efficiency in day-to-day operations.
A Business Coach acts as a sounding board to help you implement your vision. By asking powerful questions, offering a safe space to respond, listening to your responses, and moving forward together step by step, this process can help you overcome obstacles, work through resistance, and move beyond what may be holding you back. Working alongside you helps you focus on your vision and goals, so you can take the consistent action steps necessary to achieve them.
The only way to fail working with a Business Coach is if you do not make the commitment to yourself to make the changes necessary to move forward.
In sports, all teams have coaches.
Many highly successful business people have coaches.
People who want to grow their wealth often hire Financial Advisors.
The difference between success and failure is making the commitment of time, money, and doing the work.
Let’s use a local Gym as an example. People join a Gym to exercise, to be surrounded by like-minded people, to feel better physically, and for many other reasons.
There are also people who join the Gym, pay the fee, monthly or yearly, and always have an excuse as to why they never go.
That is a Fail!
Nothing changes, not because the Gym failed them, but because they have not yet committed to the process. It also gives them a reason to focus on themselves as a failure due to their lack of effort in going to the Gym.
Working with a Business Coach is similar. Allowing yourself the support of a Business Coach offers you guidance to create your vision for your business and begin the process of building your dream.
If you have an established business, the support of a Business Coach helps you monitor your success, strengthen your business, expand your clientele, and grow your bottom-line profit.
To get control of your money, you need to follow these simple steps:
• Educate yourself, consistently learn about personal finance, investing, and economic principles.
• Spend less than you earn.
• Create and stick to a budget.
• Increase your income, get a second job or create a side hustle.
• Eliminate all consumer debt.
• Create an emergency fund.
• Create a savings account to build up cash reserves dedicated to starting your own business.
These steps take time and effort, but first they help you create financial control over your money. Next comes the peace of mind that comes from having your own money to support yourself. Finally, you can build toward having no debt, an emergency fund, and a dedicated fund ready to begin the process of starting your own business.
Starting small and gradually building your business requires less start-up cost and is easier to manage as you learn how to grow your business.
Starting a business by borrowing money is one of the main reasons businesses fail in the first few years.
Starting a business with your own savings forces you to be more careful with business decisions, because it is YOUR OWN MONEY.
To borrow an old line, “the elephant in the room” is a saying that describes a difficult situation that people do not want to talk about.
If your car is not running smoothly, you hire a mechanic.
If your sink is leaking, you hire a plumber.
If your investments are doing poorly, you hire a Financial Advisor.
The people that I coach in business find that once they get into the flow of focusing on their forward movement, after overcoming previous obstacles that held them back, everything in their life changes. The new experience of having a successful business becomes fun, not work.
Being successful, they laugh and tell me they wonder why they made it so difficult on themselves. They realize that by hiring me as their Business Coach, they made a commitment to themselves to be open to change and move forward. That is truly the key.
Then that is what happens, because they made the decision, the commitment, and took action. Now their business experiences are really exciting as the obstacles are long forgotten. They are self-employed and loving every minute of it.
So you have to ask yourself: “Why are you stopping yourself from achieving your business goals, dreams, and desires?”
Do you tell yourself you’re too busy? Really?
Do you tell yourself, “I can do it myself”? How is that working for you so far?
When was the last amazing, successful experience you created in your business?
Do you tell yourself blah, blah, blah…
Where do you want to go from here?
• If you want to move forward with laser precision…
• If you are ready to have the greatest business life ever…
• If you’re tired of making excuses to yourself that you haven’t reached your full potential…
Then make a commitment to yourself to be open and honest about where you are now and what you truly want. Then make a decision to hire the business support, be open to change, and actually do the work.
Once you get into the process, you will discover how easily you can experience more and more success, every single day of your life.
Have you noticed that everything you want to do in this economy costs money?
It is impossible to create a profitable business without an input of dollars to build the business foundation, set up systems, purchase needed products, or create an office with the necessary equipment to offer your services.
Many people have tried and failed in business because they were not prepared and could not financially support themselves during the time it takes to build a business to a point of profitability.
Yet let’s go back to the start, the desire to create the vision of your own business.
Many names you may recognize started businesses with no money, just a vision, and they became very wealthy.
Milton Hershey (1857–1945)
Milton spent years learning as an apprentice how to make chocolate. He failed in his first two companies because he did not yet have the experience or the right product.
In 1900 he sold the first Hershey Bar, and the rest is history.
Here is the timeline:
1918, ten years after selling the first Hershey Bar, he transferred his entire fortune of $60 million to a Trust for the Milton Hershey School, a school for low-income children. (In today’s dollars that is about $1.31 billion.)
1945, at the time of his death he was not extremely wealthy, as he had given everything away.
2026, the Milton Hershey School Trust now holds assets worth over $17 billion.
Joyce Clyde Hall (1891–1982)
J.C. Hall arrived in Kansas City in 1910 with a shoebox of postcards, which he sold part-time to local bookstores and drugstores.
He lived in a local rooming house and kept his inventory of postcards in a shoebox under his bed. Every moment he could spare after work, he created more postcards with drawings and sketches.
He built up his business card by card, creating the money he needed to open Hall Brothers in 1910.
Following a 1915 fire that destroyed his inventory, he began producing original greeting cards.
His company adopted the name Hallmark Cards in 1928.
Today the company is privately held by the family. Hallmark generates an estimated $3.5 to $5 billion in annual revenue, and the Hall family has an estimated net worth of over $2.8 billion.
What do these stories show?
The reason most people choose to work for a paycheck and never fulfill their vision of creating their own business is that they say, “I don’t have the money,” and that stops them from moving forward.
Once you realize you don’t need money until you are actually ready to start the business, you can begin creating your vision, learning about business, and exploring what it takes to create what you want.
During that time, you can get your finances in order and begin creating the money to start your business slowly and build it as you move forward. It is much easier to start slowly while learning how to run your business without a lot of money invested up front.
In a short time, once you’re up and running smoothly, you can use the profits to build your business even faster.
Imagine your successful business running smoothly, with no debt, and owning it 100%.
If you believe that you can be successful, you will.
